Yamaha FZ-S FI V2 Specs and Review – The Yamaha FZS-Fi is the manufacturer’s attempt to introduce the second generation, or as they say, version 2.0, of the highly successful 150cc motorcycle, the FZ-S. The motorcycle is launched as an evolution over the previous generation model in every aspect, be it design or mechanicals. The biggest change introduced in the motorcycle, however, is the addition of Yamaha’s all new ‘Blue Core’ technology, which is their home gone fuel injection system for their motorcycles.
The FZ is the lord of the streets. The FZ continues to impress on every count like any other Yamaha product. The blind folded trust that the people have for Yamaha is truly something which is unmatched when compared to other competitors. The FZ, till the new version came, sold impressive numbers and was high on quality and immense amount of fun. The Yamaha FZ is by far the segment leader in terms of sporty appeal. The way it ride, handles, looks and the way it puts a smile on your face is something. The only glitch in the armour was the mileage numbers. We thought it will get a sixth cog, taller gearing or changes to the engine. However, Yamaha went the full banana and added fuel-injection to a motorcycle that was just an entry level sporty bike which shocked everyone. We told you this as an exclusive scoop and now as you can see, we were right. However, when Yamaha displayed V2.0 on the stalls of the 2014 Auto Expo, it went somewhat un-noticed as people thought it was a teaser or something which was going to land up years later. But the moment the spy shots started coming on the internet, it was evident that the launch is not far away. We ran some rings in Delhi on the new Yamaha FZ V2.0 and now we have it here, back at headquarters, to put this thoroughbred through a thorough road test and tell you what exactly has improved.

Yamaha FZ-S FI V2 Review
The overall silhoutte of the FZS-Fi still carries the muscle and butchness of the previous generation, though in a much edgier manner. The front now sports a new headlamp surrounded by a plastic headlight cowl, with a small pilot lamp below the main lamp, as before. Also, there is a small tinted visor sitting atop the front headlamp. The side profile is dominated by a large fuel tank, which is a redesigned version of the previous unit and looks sharper than before. Another highlight of the side profile is a Y-shaped cladding, running straight from the fuel tank to the lower footpegs, giving it a distinctive side view. The rear too is now much edgier than before with a pointed and nicely chiseled tail section. The tail lamp, as before, takes the pride position on the rear mudguard, but is a new unit and is surrounded by silver strips on either sides. The instrument console is also an all new unit, which ditches the garrish looking unit for a rectangular LCD display which shows digital speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, odometer, trip meter and other warning lights placed sideways. Other prominent changes introduced in the motorcycle are an all new set of split pillion grab rails, split seats, all new exhaust pipe and rear tyre hugger. To differentiate it over the FZ-Fi, the FZS-Fi comes with own set of graphics, with a theme of ‘electrification’ on its body panels, as well as wheel stripes. (Yamaha FZ-S FI V2 Specs and Review)
Appearance: (4.5/5.0)
Yamaha FZ-S FI Version 2.0 is the bike with futuristic and sharp design elements, which attempts to narrow the visual gap and look more like its big brother FZ-1.

Highlight: Engine is the most evolved component on this 2nd version of Yamaha FZ – S. Fuel injection and Yamaha’s Blue Core technology enables engineers to bind three prime important factors – enthralling power delivery, pleasing fuel efficiency and soothing refinement, together in one thread.
