Interbrand has released the 19th edition of its best global brands. These are the 100 most valuable brands in the world. Apple is the most valuable brand with a valuation of 214 billion dollars. Several car brands were on the list, two of them ranked in the top 10.
The most valuable car brand, according to Interbrand, is Toyota, the flagship brand of Toyota Motor Corp. (NYSE: TM). Its value was set at $ 53 billion, up 6%. In most years, it competes with Volkswagen for its lead in cars produced around the world.
Then follows two luxury brands in Germany. Mercedes ranks eighth among all car brands with $ 47 billion, up 2%. BMW ranked 13th with a valuation of 41 billion dollars, down 1%.
Honda Motor Corp. (NYSE: HMC), the second largest Japanese automaker\’s Honda brand, ranks 20th with $ 24 billion, up 4%. Ford Motor Co.\’s (NYSE: F) Ford brand ranked 35th at $ 14 billion, up 3%. The South Korean car brand Hyundai ranked 31st with 14 billion dollars, up 3%.
Japan\’s third-largest automaker, Nissan, saw its Nissan brand rank 40th with a value of $ 12 billion, up 6%. Volkswagen occupies the 41st position with a brand value of $ 12 billion, up 6%. Volkswagen stablemate Audi ranked 41st with a brand value of $ 12 billion, up 1%. Another Volkswagen brand, Porsche, ranked 52nd with $ 11 billion, up 6%.
In Korea, South Korea, Kia, has a brand valuation of $ 7 billion, up 4%. Land Rover ranked 78th with $ 6 billion, up 2%. The ultra-specialized Ferrari luxury car brand ranked 80th at $ 6 billion, up 18%. BMW\’s Mini brand ranked 90th with $ 5 billion, up 3%.
New on the list and in 100th place of the brand, the Japanese brand Subaru has a brand value of $ 4 billion.
