Vehicle manufacturer Tata has unveiled a new electric vehicle as a concept which is called Curvv. In this way, the Indian brand continues on track in electrification anticipating a new SUV coupe, which as planned, could reach the Indian market within about two years. This was confirmed by Martin Uhlarik, the company’s head of design, who mentioned that they will not sacrifice any of the interior space and the new Curvv will offer ‘class-leading’ dimensions and features. With this future launch, Tata plans to produce eight new electric vehicles by 2025, with the ultimate goal being tata to account for 25% of its total sales in India by 2026.
With a wide autonomy
The new Curvv Concept is built on the Tata Generation 2 EV platform and features the design language called ‘Digital’. In line with this, the new all-electric car features dynamic body lines and clean surfaces in a coupe SUV design. Both its front and its saga have LED illuminated strips, with DRL daytime running lights that adopt triangle shapes in its front bumper and plastic protections, typical of an SUV in the fenders and underbody.
In the cabin, customers will enjoy futuristic-looking seats lined in fabric. In technological terms, the Curvv Concept features a two-spoke steering wheel with integrated controls next to the brand’s badge illuminated in the centre of it. We also have two medium-sized screens with different functions: one that reflects the digital instrumentation with the status of the vehicle and the other that controls the infotainment system. The center console features touch-sensitive buttons, while other elements include ambient lighting and a panoramic sliding roof.
The mechanical configuration will be all-electric and based on the Tata Generation 2 EV architecture. There is not much data regarding this, but the manufacturer ensures that it will have an operating range of up to 500 km. Also, the SUV will be offered with ICE combustion engine configuration in the future. The new Curvv will join the existing Nexon EV and Tigor EV.
