More prestacional, and efficient, is the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid that we also had the chance to drive. It is the most ambitious plug-in hybrid step of the brand and comes to complement the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid (462 HP of combined power). This new motorization, available for both the saloon and the Sport Turismo, is embodied in the model of the most powerful saga. Not surprisingly, the combination of a twin-turbo V8 engine and an additional electric unit results in a power of 680 HP, in addition to an extraordinary maximum torque of 850 Nm.

Its hybrid concept derives from competition, taking the genes of the 918 Spyder , and the first consequence we see in its performance: 310 km / h maximum speed and just 3.4 seconds to do the 0 to 100 km / h. By default the car starts in electric E-Power mode, completely silent, and there are three other programs of operation: Hybrid Auto (combined management of the two engines), Sport and Sport Plus (in both the V8 is always active) . Additionally, there are the subprograms E-Hold (maintains the state of the load for later use) and E-Charge (the thermal propellant charges the battery).

The power offered by this hybrid is immense, and that despite the fact that from the inside, well isolated from noise and any irregularity of the asphalt, the actual speed of travel is not appreciated. In addition, the transition of operation between the combustion engine and the electric one is practically imperceptible. To conclude, the car offers an electric range of 50 kilometers (in the planned route we could not corroborate this range), which expands its possibilities of use in areas of restricted traffic and parking for ecological vehicles.

In the purely dynamic aspect, and this is extendable to all the mechanics, the Panamera Sport Turismo is one of the cars over five meters that most sports sensations transmit, if not the most. It is true that its suspension frame and tarp indicate a set-up in which comfort does not prevail so much (high in any case), but it shows a brilliant steering feel, a high agility and an outstanding braking capacity.

In this sense, the Sport Turismo versions raise the weight around 30 kilos with respect to the saloon (although such increase is not noticeable in the driving), so they equip with oversized disc brakes .

The first deliveries of the new German model, from which orders are already accepted, will begin to take place during the month of November. In principle it is expected that between 15 and 35 percent of the demand, within the Panamera family, corresponds to Sport Turismo. The range starts at 109,088 euros , corresponding to the Panamera 4. The 4S rises to 133,800, while the Turbo goes to 182,899 euros. For its part, the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo goes on sale for 115,488 euros, and the Turbo S E-Hybrid for 193,291 euros.
