In terms of lightweight performance, Porsche not only offers extreme versions like the new GT3 RS, it also offers entry-level models oriented towards lightness as evidenced by the return of the T.
24th in the 911 range, Porsche unveils the T, a new version for 2023 that, at a base price of $ 136,600, fits between the 911 Carrera and the 911 Carrera S. Aesthetically, it cannot be said that Porsche has made any special efforts. We follow the 911 Carrera very closely with the exception of the 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels standard at the rear. We also play with agathe gray for different accents on the body such as mirrors and the applique.
In the cabin, it’s a little more serious with the removal of the rear seats. However, it is possible to recover them free of charge. In the cockpit, the steering wheel is GT type, the Sport Plus seats are more tight. We also offer gray accents for a reminder with the outside. As we are at Porsche, the list of options is simply endless.
What attracts buyers to the T is found under the body. De facto, the T is only a propulsion. At the rear, the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-6-cylinder engine develops a 379-horsepower cavalry and produces 331 pound-feet of torque. Everything goes through a standard 7-speed manual gearbox. It is possible to obtain the 8-speed PDK automatic at no cost. In terms of suspension, the T comes de facto with PASM Sport shock absorbers that lower the T by 10 millimeters for more incisive handling. With this dynamic in mind, the Sport Chrono package is part of the game, as is a torque vectoring, a limited-slip differential and a sport-type exhaust.
The goal of the Porsche 911 Carrera T is to ensure sportiness in the purest possible spirit. In addition to removing the rear seats, we cut on the soundproofing, reduce the size of the battery, and we even go so far as to integrate fenestration with thinner glass. All in all, this slimming cure makes it possible to annihilate 45 kilos to the total mass which is, with the manual gearbox, at 1,476 kilos. Thanks to these modifications, the manual can complete the 0 to 100 kilometers / hour in 4.5 seconds, while the automatic will do the same exercise in 3.8 seconds.
