Volkswagen Touareg III. As part of its SUV campaign, VW is gradually launching new models with new names on the market. In 2017, it was the T-Roc, followed by the even smaller T-Cross in 2018. But even time-honored series are being replaced. At the end of March 2018, VW will introduce the next Touareg in Beijing.

Interestingly, the accompanying circumstances of the world premiere: VW lupft the cloth namely not at the fair “Auto China” in Beijing (April 25 to May 4, 2018) but at a separate event on March 23 in China\’s capital. Reasons are included in the press release: China is the world\’s fastest growing SUV market and also the largest single market for VW.
Traveling Internet node
The fact that the new Touareg first and foremost has China in view was already demonstrated by VW in 2016 with the study “T-Prime Concept GTE” issued in Beijing. It was 5.07 meters long and had a plug-in hybrid with 381 hp system performance. The series Touareg will not be that long, but lush enough to differentiate itself from the 4.70-meter Tiguan Allspace.
The optics takes over the third Touareg generation largely from the T-Prime. VW promises “a phalanx” of assistance systems and one of the largest digital cockpits in its class called “Innovision”. At the same time, the next Touareg should become a traveling internet node. Speaking of driving: Also mentioned are air suspension, rear-wheel steering and roll stabilization.
