The Japanese manufacturer Suzuki , in view of the new regulation for motorcycles in Europe, Euro 5, has found it necessary to renew the driving heart of its flagship, the elegant Burgman 400 scooter . In this way, the people of Hamamatsu present us their update of the model that has remained intact since 2018, allowing it to homologate Euro 5 where its aesthetics incorporates slight modifications and new colors, while its propeller adopts some elements and the new traction control that makes it more efficient. The Suzuki Burgman 400 2022 can be obtained from 7,595 euros, a price that can be financed in comfortable installments if the multi-option system offered by Suzuki is requested.
What’s new?
To begin with, aesthetically the new Burgman 400 2021 does not present major changes in its body, only small details that are observed in new LED headlights. What does debut is the addition of three new colors in its chromatic catalog called: Metallic Mat Sword Silver that is combined with multi-spoke wheels finished in blue. The other two are Metallic Mat Black and Solid Iron Gray. Its chassis remains intact as a tubular steel structure as well as its suspensions: a front fork and a rear shock absorber. Its braking system is entrusted to two 260 mm front discs with axial anchor caliper, while on the rear axle we have a single 210 mm disc. Both axles with ABS and a reported total vehicle weight of 218 kg.
Its driving heart is made up of a 400cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder block. To be able to homologate Euro 5 it has had to do without its power a little, which has dropped from 31 to 28 CV and 35.2 Nm of torque, this has allowed to optimize its consumption and reduce its emissions, to this is added a new Traction control that with the help of sensors can detect if there is slippage and act on other engine components to regulate its operation. Finally, it maintains its two-seater seat with lumbar support, a tank underneath it with a capacity of 42 liters and a double glove box with 12v socket.
