The 2022 GV70 is a new premium compact SUV from the luxury brand Genesis owned by Hyundai. It is based on the charismatic G70 sports sedan and contains the handling and performance attributes of that car, but offers the benefits of an SUV, including better cargo capacity. And, every GV70 model is equipped with all-wheel drive.
Genesis aims to compete in the difficult luxury car market and attract buyers by offering the same high-end amenities as its competitors, at more affordable prices.
The GV70 offers a choice of two engines: a turbocharged, 300-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a 375-horsepower twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The fuel economy ratings for the four-cylinder are 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. For the V6, the figures are 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
The Genesis GV70 models are named after their displacement followed by four different trim levels: Standard, Select, Advanced and Sport Prestige.
Base price with a destination charge of $ 1,045 included starts at $ 42,045 for the GV70 2.5T AWD Standard model and goes up to $ 63,545 for the GV70 3.5T AWD Sport Prestige.
The interior and exterior styling of the GV70 is magnificent, and true to its form, the interior of the Sport Prestige is packed with features of comfort, convenience and technology. The upgraded infotainment system features a 14.5-inch screen, advanced navigation, and a premium Lexicon audio system with 16 speakers. Operation is intuitive and its main controller is excellent: a large rotary knob in the center console that doubles as a radio tuner.
The cargo space of the GV70 is an impressive 28.9 cubic feet with the rear seats upright. With the rear seats folded down, the capacity increases to 56.9 cubic feet. Try to find that in a sedan.
