It is a version of the KIA Picanto whose main feature is that its body is 1.5 centimeters further away from the ground. In total, the minimum distance to the road is 156 mm, which is not much. Although it is not prepared to overcome areas in bad condition, that greater height can make more comfortable the access and exit of the passenger compartment. Its marketing will begin in October. The most similar model currently on the market is the Opel ADAM Rocks .

KIA has retouched the exterior so that it looks like the Sportage and Sorento SUVs and there are black protective plastics on the bumpers, the underside of the bodywork and the wheel arches. The tires are 16 inches, one inch larger than the largest available in the normal Picanto. You can have some of the equipment elements that are already available in other models in the range, such as aluminum pedals, an information and entertainment system with a screen 7 inches in size (compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), rear parking camera or USB connections for external devices. As a novelty (although at the moment we do not know if it will be available in Spain), there will be a hands-free access system and a wireless recharging surface for the mobile phone.

It will be available only with the new petrol engine of 1.0 liters and 100 horsepower, that soon will also use the Picanto with the equipment level GT Line (already have the Cee’d and Rio ). This engine, whose commercial name is T-GDI, has a turbocharger and direct  fuel injection .

The KIA Picanto X-Line can accelerate from standing to 100 km / h in 10.1 seconds and has an average approved consumption of 4.5 l / 100 km. Acceleration capacity is normal for its power; the consumption, however, is lower than that of other small cars of similar power.
