Honda announces an exclusively hybrid engine for its next SUV, the arrival of which is scheduled for the end of the year. The Honda HR-V’s turn to adopt the manufacturer’s e: HEV technology.
After the latest Honda Jazz and CR-V, it is therefore the turn of the next Honda HR-V compact SUV to adopt the new exclusively hybrid powertrain from the Japanese manufacturer. The Honda HR-V 2022, whose marketing is scheduled for the end of 2021, will in fact only be offered as an e: HEV hybrid, whose maximum power of 131 hp and torque of 253 Nm announce versatility and comfort for everyday journeys. And that’s good, since Honda announces precisely “an optimal mixture of efficiency and performance”.
e: HEV or nothing
As an extension of the manufacturer’s latest models, the Honda HR-V compact SUV also goes hybrid exclusively with the adoption of the advanced e: HEV hybrid technology which already equips the Honda CR-V and Jazz.. The urban SUV, designed for everyday journeys with its 4.33 m long and 1.77 m wide, puts more emphasis than ever on efficiency and driving pleasure by using the engine 4-cylinder 1.5 petrol Atkinson cycle, coupled with an electric battery placed under the rear floor.
