Garelli Ciclone E4 electric scooterGarelli , that’s a name those under 20 shouldn’t know. However, this Italian motorcycle manufacturer born in 1919 has had a long and beautiful history punctuated in the 1980s by several world championship titles in GP 125 with Angiel Nieto , Luca Cadalora and Fausta Gresini.

But the brand was put into liquidation in 2012 after its takeover by an investment fund following several difficult years. Two years ago, three Italian entrepreneurs bought the brand with the aim of relaunching it in the electric segment. Thus were presented the Ciclone (a very urban moped) as well as a range of VAE.

Garelli Ciclone E4 electric scooter Specs and Details

While the “50” version of 1.9 kW is already distributed, Garelli is now preparing to market its Ciclone E4 homologated as a 125.

Aesthetically the two versions are close and share the same tubular aluminum frame, their inverted telescopic fork, the adjustable mono-shock absorber or even their 13 “wheels and their 220 mm brake discs.

In addition to the color variations, it is above all the engine that is different since the Bosch motor integrated into the rear wheel now develops 4 kW of power and a maximum torque of 160 Nm for a top speed announced at 70 km / h.

This is powered by a removable 2.5 kWh LG Li-ion battery capable of providing up to 70 km of range in sport mode and 110 km in Eco mode (limited to 35 km / h). It takes 6 to 8 hours to charge on a standard outlet and half as much with the fast charge option. Above all, this urban machine is very compact with a wheelbase of barely 1,195 mm and a high saddle of 820 mm. The weight with the battery is announced at 81 kg.

Expected for the next school year, the Garelli Ciclone E4 should run around 4,500th including tax, compared to the 2kW Ciclone sold for 3,490 euros.
