Audi created the surprise by unveiling the SQ5 alongside the Q8 concept with the program a real petrol engine of 354 hp.
We might have suspected it. The first Audi SQ5 was unveiled at the Detroit show in 2013. After the presentation of Q5 last year, the Detroit show was the ideal place for the SQ5. Unlike the European SQ5 fuel oil, the American SQ5 has always sipped gasoline. The new opus continues the tradition since the TDI was banned from the territory of Uncle Sam with the adoption of the engine of the Audi S4 and S5. This 3.0 V6 TFSI develops a power of 354 hp and a torque of 500 Nm. All this cavalry goes through an eight-speed automatic transmission and a Quattro transmission. Audi announced a 0 to 100 km / h traveled in 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 250 km / h.
The new SQ5 can optionally receive a differential that sends more torque to the outer wheel to promote oversteer. Sitting on five-link suspensions at the front and rear, the SQ5 is equipped with 20-inch wheels and can accommodate optional 21-inch wheels. Braking is supported by 350 mm discs with six-piston calipers at the front and four pistons at the rear.
Discreet outside, the SQ5 gets a slightly sportier treatment inside with a specific leather steering wheel without flats. The 8.3-inch diagonal infotainment screen is in series, but you will have to go through the option box to qualify for the Virtual Cockpit.
For the first time, the Audi SQ5 petrol will land with us in the summer. The SQ5 diesel is expected to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
