All you need to Know about 2022 Mazda Mazda3

Recently redesigned in 2019, the 2022 Mazda Mazda3 is expected to be a carryover model for the coming year. Since the release of a fully updated model, the Mazda3 has received more standard safety features, a new turbocharged engine, a new base engine and new trim levels. After going through various changes in 2021, the 2022 Mazda3 is expected to arrive without significant changes.

When the Mazda3 arrived in 2019 as a completely redesigned vehicle, it brought premium design that will continue for the 2022 model year. Sedan and hatchback body styles share the same sleek styling with large grilles, Sharp headlights, slim taillights and prominent tailpipes. The hatchback is arguably the more aesthetic version, with a more athletic design with a thick C-pillar.

The interior of the 2022 Mazda3 is offered with features that competitors do not have, such as leather upholstery, a standard 8.8-inch screen, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, and a heads-up display. Push-button start, rear view camera, Bluetooth, electronic parking brake, rain-sensing wipers and LED front and rear lights come standard. A matte-finish grille and 16- to 18-inch silver, gray or gloss black aluminum alloy wheels are also available depending on the finish.

Each trim has a list of standard or available features. Everything from dual-control air conditioning to the leather-wrapped steering wheel and mirrors with position memory, to the eight-way power driver’s seats with lumbar support, heated exterior mirrors and more.

The expanded powertrain lineup that Mazda introduced last year is expected to continue to be available for the 2022 model year. Three Skyactiv-G engines will be available for the compact vehicle as well as two transmissions. The sedan comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque as standard.

The hatchback models feature a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. This engine is optional on the sedan. Both the sedan and the sedan are offered with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder developing up to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. All engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and come with front-wheel drive, except models with the turbocharged engine, which come with all-wheel drive.

Mazda has not given an official release date, but said the models will start arriving at dealerships this winter.

Pricing for the 2022 Mazda3 has been revealed to start at $ 20,800 and climb from there to $ 34,400 depending on the trim and model version. These prices do not include destination charges of up to $ 1,060.

The compact Mazda3 rivals the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Elantra.
