The 2021 Nissan Murano is a  premium five-passenger crossover SUV that falls in love with the naked eye. Time was lacking for a more complete review, however, these are the first impressions of a vehicle where luxury, comfort and safety are a constant.

The model tested was a Nissan Murano Platinum AWD, the most complete of this range, in a striking cement color that seems to be fashionable in many brands. The 20-inch black wheels made it even more eye-catching, as did its sharp exterior lines that distinguish Japanese design.

Opening the driver’s door, the first thing that caught my eye were the super-luxury seats. The ones on this truck were brown with diamond-shaped stitching that made them very elegant and comfortable. And if that wasn’t enough, they have 10 positions (they can be moved backwards, forwards, up or down) and lumbar control, something that those of us who suffer from back problems appreciate.

It also highlights the infotainment screen with touch buttons that, surprisingly enough, has a compact disc reader, a rare accessory in modern cars. In addition, it has Android Auto and CarPlay, although the latter disappointed us a bit as it was not wireless: you have to connect your Apple device to one of the two USB ports on the screen, one of which is type C (very wise decision, since the technology standard points towards this type of connectivity).

As mentioned in other reviews, Nissan is the brand that puts the most emphasis on road safety technology, and this truck is not far behind. The new Nissan Murano has all the systems available today: Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Automatic Rear Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning and High Beam Assist.

These systems were tested on a short road trip. My favorite was the intelligent autopilot: when the car detects that there is a vehicle in front, it regulates the speed to maintain an appropriate distance; distance control can be long, medium or short. The adjustments of this system are not as drastic as in other cars, as it accelerates or slows in a very subtle way, as the case may be.

Rated at 260 horsepower, a great addition to this midsize SUV (it doesn’t have the desired third row) is the large 67 cu. many suitcases or some sports equipment.

In terms of sound, it has a very clear 11-speaker Bose system with two subwoofers that make the music sound great, as if the artist were singing in your ear.
