Since the launch of the Dacia Logan in 2004, the Renault group has sold more than ten million low-cost vehicles . The French group will continue this momentum, and is preparing to renew the Dacia range.
In fact, the Romanian manufacturer Dacia presented the highly anticipated Duster at the Frankfurt Motor Show . As we have seen, the low-cost SUV does not (aesthetically) change fundamentally from the first generation.
After the Dacia Duster, the manufacturer is working on the development of the new Sandero . Last year, the townman received a mid-career restyling before the arrival of a new generation in 2019, according to Auto Bild magazine .
This new Dacia Sandero will – just like the new Dacia Duster – not revolutionary. The design will evolve slightly to adapt to the new aesthetic standards of the market without placing in the cupboard the second and current generation.
Under the body, the Dacia Sandero will rest on another platform that will be found under the body of the new Renault Clio V. This is the newest platform CMF-B. This new platform should enable the group to achieve more significant economies of scale; the rate of common rooms will be much higher.
The new Dacia Sandero would grow a few centimeters and the version Stepway would be on the program. Under the hood, it is likely that the 1.0-liter 75-hp engines and the 95-liter turbocharged 0.9-liter will be offered at entry level.
It remains to be seen whether this new Dacia Sandero will be proposed with a hybrid engine, as with the new Clio V confirmed by Renault.
