2016 Volkswagen Caddy Specs and Price

Volkswagen has officially unveiled the 2016 Volkswagen Caddy. Volkswagen has introduced the 2016 Volkswagen Caddy  ahead of its debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. Volkswagen has confirmed that the unveiling of the fourth generation Caddy will take place in February 2015. Little is known about the upcoming van, although the new model is rumoured to have a much more productive load space.

Looking instantly recognizable, the updated model has a new front fascia with a larger grille that is flanked by restyled headlights. The styling changes conintue out back as there’s a new rear bumper, restyled taillights and a redesigned tailgate.

Bigger changes occur in the cabin as the 2016 Volkswagen Caddy adopts a new dashboard, revised switchgear and new door panels. We can also see a flat-bottomed steering wheel, metallic accents and color-coordinated trim on higher-end variants. Volkswagen was coy on specifics but confirmed the model can be equipped with Discover Media, Composition Media and Composition Color infotainment systems.Volkswagen Caddy expected in 2015

Under the hood, a variety of engines will be available including a 1.0-liter TSI three-cylinder with 102 PS (75 kW), a 1.2-liter TSI four-cylinder with 84 PS (62 kW) and a 1.4-liter TSI four-cylinder with 125 PS (92 kW). There will also be four TDI engines with outputs ranging from 75 PS (55 kW) to 150 PS (110 kW).

Volkswagen claims the 2016 Caddy will be the first vehicle in the urban van segment with a number of driver assistance systems, such as city emergency braking, which automatically applies the brakes to avoid a collision or lessen its severity at speeds below 30km/h, adaptive cruise control, which is operational up to 160km/h, and light assist and driver alert systems.

Other available tech features include satellite navigation, reverse-view camera, and semi-automated reverse parallel and rear-to-kerb parking.

The fourth-generation Caddy will go on sale in Germany at the end of June before rolling out into other international markets from the second half of the year, including Australia in the final quarter of 2015.  2016 Volkswagen Caddy will be launched in June and German pricing starts at €14,785.

Generation Four Edition

In Germany, Volkswagen will celebrate the launch of the 2016 Volkswagen Caddy with a special edition model called “Generation Four.” The Generation Four panel van gains body-colored bumpers and mirrors, smoked tail lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels and body-colored trim sprinkled throughout the cockpit.

The Generation Four Kombi benefits from a silver roof rack, tinted windows, 17-inch alloys with a burnished black finish, A/C and partial leather upholstery with contrast stitching.
