Marketed in the United States since 2015 and in France since last September, the Tesla Model X can now boast of being the first SUV to obtain the maximum score for US crash tests. Independently evaluated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ( NHTSA ), the 100% electric vehicle achieved 5 stars in the various tests including frontal and lateral collisions as well as reversals .
Reinforced chassis and low center of gravity
The success of the SUV is due to its reinforced chassis and its under-floor batteries, which help to cushion shocks and limit the risks of barrels thanks to a very low center of gravity. According to Tesla , passengers would have a 93% chance of being able to get out of the car without serious injuries, even in the event of a serious accident.
