Orders for the Skoda Karoq have already been opened in Germany. For now is offered with Ambition and Style finish and four engines, from 24,290 euros.
The Skoda Karoq is ready to hit the market, the hardest segment of it, to fight with rivals of all kinds. From ‘in-house’ like the Seat Ateca or even the Volkswagen Tiguan , to the dominators of the segment, such as the Nissan Qashqai , Hyundai Tucson or Kia Sportage . And without forgetting the Renault Kadjar , Ford Kuga , Jeep Compass , Honda CR-V … His debut will be produced at the Frankfurt Motor Show and marketing in Spain will not start before September; And here we still do not have prices to know the chances of success that will have against a tough competition.
But in Germany, orders for the new Karoq are already admitted, although with a limited range, for now, two finishes – Ambition and Style – which allows us to get an idea of where the Karoq is going to be placed, by price. The Czech SUV is offered for the moment, with four different engines, two versions of petrol and two diesel. In addition, there are variants of front and all-wheel drive, as well as 6-speed manual or 6-speed DSG automatic variants.
A tri-cylinder as access to the range
In gasoline, the access to the range is the tri-cylindrical 1.0 TSI engine with 115 horses and 200 Nm of torque between 2.00 and 3.500 laps and 6-speed manual transmission. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 10.2 seconds, reaches a maximum speed of 187 km / h and achieves a combined average consumption of 5.3 l / 100 km with emissions of 119 g / km of CO2.
The next stage in gasoline is the 1.5 TSI of 150 horses, an engine released in the new delivery of the Volkswagen Golf and that has system of disconnection of cylinders to reduce the consumption. It is associated with the automatic double clutch DSG with gears. With 150 horses and a maximum torque of 250 Nm between 1,500 and 3,500 rpm, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.6 seconds, reaches the maximum speed of 203 km / h and its combined consumption is 5.5 l / 100 km, corresponding to CO2 emissions of 125 g / km.
In diesel the access to the range is the 1.6 TDI of 115 horses, a motor of four cylinders managed by a manual change of 6 marches. It offers a maximum torque of 250 Nm between 1,500 and 3,200 revolutions, acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 10.7 seconds and a top speed of 188 km / h. Consumption stands at 4.4 l / 100 km and emissions at 120 g / km of CO2.
3,300 euros less than Kodiaq
Above, the 2.0 TDI of 150 horses, with all-wheel drive and two variants of change: six-speed manual or DSG with 7 ratios.
