The development of a new car is a time consuming task. Sometimes the time of the drawing board to actually have a car in the driveway at the customer can take a year or six. By means of the site Spyspots.nl we can draw a portion of this timeline. Today we put the Porsche 991 development even in a row.
1. Porsche 991 Mule
Above we see a mule of the 991, which was uploaded in September 2009. The first formulation of the 991 was already highlighted in 2008, but we did not take photos at Spyspots.nl . The car has the body of the 997, but the entire chassis and the technique is subcutaneous, all of the 991. It is on the outside so nothing to see in appearance that the new Porsche 911 will be. You only see that the body does not fit well with the chassis.
2. Spyspot Porsche 991 Carrera
In the next stage, you see a bit more of the lines of the 991. The front is well camouflaged. We see a 997-bumper design at the front giving the car a 997 seems strange proportions. Among the 997-bumper is the new 991-bumper already assembled. In order to generate more confusion there is a sticker on the hips stuck that one has to think that this is a broad Porsche 997 Turbo. At the back we see more camouflage. The whole ass is well hidden through some extra body. The new tail lights are not installed on this model. Funny in the comments when these types of spots is that they think that the final production model so will look.
3. Spyspot Porsche 991 Carrera Cabriolet
Here we see that the 997-bumper design has been removed and the 991 headlights are revealed. The extra material to conceal the back is removed and the rear which can be found on the production model, are placed. The 991 rear lights are placed but they are by a large sticker still camouflaged. Here we see a lot more of the final model of the 991.
4. Spyspot Porsche 991 Carrera
To the car a bit to make it look like a normal 997 because the 991 was not presented yet, there are at the rear extra red stickers placed. For example, the taillights seem therefore that of the 997. We are now in the final stages of testing. Furthermore, it is almost all removed camouflage.
5. Porsche 991 Carrera S
The final model is spotted. In September 2009 the first mule was uploaded on Autogespot and in August 2011, almost two years later, we welcomed the first spot of the final model. Moreover, they still busy testing the 991 GT3 and 991 Turbo. As the official models are unveiled, we will also try to make an article here.
Incidentally, lots of things can go wrong while testing new cars. What about the cars itself in fire fly , but also test drivers fatal flaws make during their work.
