The sports company Polestar, belonging to Volvo , is celebrating today. The Swedish company has unveiled its plans for the future as a manufacturer specialized in electric vehicles and autonomous high performance. He has confirmed his first three models, the first of them the Polestar 1.

Also today, the brand has confirmed the manufacture of its first three models of history and the construction of a new production plant in China. The first model of all is the Polestar 1, a vehicle whose production will start in mid-2019 with a maximum of up to 500 units a year.
This Polestar 1 will be based on the SPA platform of Volvo , although approximately 50% of the elements will be of new design and coming from the signature of high benefits. As for its exterior design, the model will have a Grand Tourer Coupé body 2 2 seats whose length will be 4.5 meters . Also, most of the body is made of carbon fiber.
The model will have a hybrid mechanic with which it will achieve an autonomy of up to 150 kilometers in totally electric mode , which makes it one of the models of the market with more autonomy if not the one that more.
It will include an electric mechanic with two engines that will be in charge of moving the rear axle and that will produce 218 CV of power. Next to this electrical system, the Polestar 1 will include a 4-cylinder Volvo Drive-E propeller with which will achieve a combined power of 600 hp and a maximum torque of 1,000 Nm.
Polestar 2 and Polestar 3
The Swedish firm has also been ahead with the announcement of its second and third models. In this case, these vehicles will have a fully electric system . In the case of Polestar 2 , this will begin production in late 2019 and will be the first fully electric model of the Volvo Group.
According to Polestar, this model will be in the mid-size range and compete in the market with the Tesla Model 3 . On the other hand, the Polestar 3 , which is in the design stage, will be a large SUV that will be located midway between Polestar 1 and Polestar 2 in terms of price.
The manufacture of these three models will be carried out in China , where Volvo has joined in a joint venture with two local companies. Polestar 1 will be built at the Chengdu production plant. The reserves of this first model are open from today to ordering.
