The updated Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV will provide greater power and efficiency when it goes on sale in the UK in September.
The Model 2019 Rechargeable Hybrid SUV will feature a new 2.4-liter gasoline engine, as well as more engine, generator and battery capacity.
According to the WLTP test protocol, it will offer a range of only 28 miles, with CO2 emissions of 46g / km.
The new gasoline engine produces 135PS, an increase of 14PS over its predecessor, while the torque goes from 190Nm to 211Nm.
The electric powertrain sees a 10% increase in generator output and an increase in the rear electric motor to 95PS.
The battery output of the drive has been increased by 10% and its total capacity has increased to 13.8 kWh thanks to new battery cells.
Other changes include revised dampers to improve low-speed driving, while a snow-driving mode aims to improve launch and low-slip capabilities on slippery surfaces.
Interior changes include redesigned front seats, a switching mechanism moved to increase ease of use, while the instrument cluster has also been revised.
Exterior changes include a new front fascia with redesigned grille, a new bumper extension and new LED headlights.
The rear has a rear bumper extension and a redesigned roof spoiler, while the new Outlander PHEV is also equipped with new two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels.
UK prices and specifications will be announced closer to launch.
