The image shows a model without a badge, visibly close to the Bolt. New Chevrolet electric SUV ?
Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors, spoke at a conference about the future of its brand, which obviously involves the development of electric. An image of a model unknown until then was presented on this occasion.
Without a logo, the car in question takes some features of the Chevrolet FNR-X concept presented at the Shanghai Motor Show in April 2017. There are also fake Bolt tunes , especially in the back. These two elements seem to indicate that we are in the presence of a future Chevrolet, even if the Buick hypothesis is also plausible. It should also be noted that General Motors has not formally confirmed that this is a new model per se.
Nevertheless, the arrival of an electric SUV seems more than likely in the current state of things, especially as GM will launch many new “0 emissions” in the coming years. Many believe that the vehicle will be well launched, and that it recovered the platform of the Chevrolet Bolt . If no change is made, we would find 60 kWh batteries and a 200 hp engine. Autonomy (383 km according to the EPA cycle) would probably decrease slightly due to a higher weight.
We also learned that GM is developing a new platform for its electric cars. Scheduled for 2021, it will notably lower production costs. Last but not least, the US giant hopes to commercialize 20 electric vehicles by 2023 .
