The EQA Concept is a prototype with which Mercedes-Benz unveils the look and technical solutions that will have a future electric drive vehicle. It is the second model that the brand presents under the name “EQ”; the first was Generation EQ , at the Paris Motor Show in 2016 .
It has a three-door body that measures 4.28 meters in length (practically the same as a Class A ) and is powered by two electric motors that together can give “more than 272 horsepower” and “more than 500 Nm of torque. ” The battery is placed under the floor of the vehicle, it is lithium-ion and can be charged by a wallbox or by induction. It is manufactured by modules, so that they can be added more or less depending on the needs of each user (Mercedes-Benz says there will be more than 60 kWh).
Each electric motor drives a different wheel axle, thus providing traction in all four. According to Mercedes-Benz, the EQA Concept is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in “about 5 seconds” and travel “more than 400 kilometers on a single charge” (depending on the capacity of the battery).
Both the headlights and the Mercedes-Benz Concept EQA pilots use laser technology to perform their functions. The grill is not of conventional type, but is composed of a led panel that changes its design depending on the driving mode selected. A set of decorative strips are also located on the lower perimeter of the body which, according to Mercedes-Benz, “provide a unique welcome light” and can also be manually activated.
