The Swedish manufacturer of Hypercartes Koenigsegg has just presented its new Hybrid Regera model in production show at the Geneva Motor Show 2017. Last year, we watched a Candy Apple Red Regera, this year it is finished in Green carbon fiber!
The Koenigsegg Regera will have all the attention and dedication of the company now the Agera line is near the end of production. When we consider the numbers, Koenigsegg has created a worthy successor for the Agera, this time with a hybrid configuration. Despite the significant weight that the hybrid system strikes on the car, the curb weight is still impressively low at just 1628 kg.
Seeing the hyper-handmade in real life immediately tells you that this is not your ordinary plug-in gaming device. Anyone who thought the Koenigsegg One: 1 was impressive, captures this: the Regera powertrain is capable of delivering more than 1 MW of power. The powertrain includes the powerful 5.0 liter double turbo V8 for 1100 horsepower and 1250 Nm of torque and three electric motors delivering a combined torque of 700 hp and 900 Nm. This brings the combined output to more than 1,500 hp 1.11 MW) and more than 2000 Nm of torque.
On the road, the Koenigsegg Regera devours zero to 100 in just 2.8 seconds, 150 km / h at 250 km / h in just 3.2 seconds, and 0-400 km / h in less than 20 seconds. The Regera is likely to be between 400 km / h and 500 km / h, although a maximum official speed has not yet been revealed. Looking at the massive two places in the flesh, we can not conclude otherwise that it is the ultimate beast!
This is an important step for Koenigsegg in many ways:
- The Regera is a brand new Koenigsegg, full of revolutionary technology, including the first Direct Drive system for a production vehicle.
- This is the first time that Koenigsegg has built two competing models in its Ängelholm production plant.
- It completes a year of extensive expansion for Koenigsegg Automotive AB.
- La Regera is a real technical tour-de-force. It is a rolling collection of world premieres and best in the world.
It combines Motorsport-grade battery cells, three powerful electric motors and proven Koenigsegg twin-turbo V8 engine to produce a prodigious 1500hp, which is sent to the rear wheels by the first direct drive system ever developed for a production vehicle series : Koenigsegg Direct Drive.
It has the first 800 volt electric system for use in a production vehicle. It is used to provide power to three electric motors, which at 670hp, have the highest electrical power ever used in a production hybrid.
It is the first production vehicle in the world available with a fully robotized body and the first with a fully assembled rear spoiler mounted on top for better aerodynamics.
The Regera’s hybrid powertrain propels it from stop at 300 km / h in 10 seconds – faster than the extraordinary Koenigsegg One: 1 – and 400 km / h in less than 20 seconds, another world first for A production car. We would like to tell you that this is the first car in the world with a removable roof capable of reaching 400 km / h, but it was actually the Koenigsegg CCXR. In 2008.
This is the history of innovation in Koenigsegg.
The first Regera to deliver is finished with a modern twist on a well-known sports car livery. Recalling the classic British Racing Green, the green tinted transparent coat allows the perfectly aligned carbon fiber fabric to shine through. It is a constant reminder that the Regera is a thoroughbred performance car presenting only the latest, greatest technology. The interior is finished in rich Saddle Brown leather with a combination of basket fabrics and flat leather covering the seats, rear wall, steering wheel and doors.
