Nissan will soon market the Nissan Ariya 2022 , an all-electric SUV whose dimensions place it between a compact SUV and a mid-size SUV. It was on the sidelines of the Monaco Grand Prix that the 2022 Nissan Ariya made its first appearance with, as a backdrop, the roads of the Formula E street circuit which took place a few weeks ago.
The Nissan Ariya 2022 will therefore join the LEAF in Nissan’s range of electric vehicles. With buyers’ enthusiasm for SUVs, it’s a safe bet that the model will quickly become popular, competing with the Tesla Model Y and the Volkswagen ID.4 which will also be released shortly. With a length of 4,600 millimeters and a width of 1,920 millimeters, it offers dimensions similar to the Qashqai, making it the segment generating the highest volume of sales in the country.
In the absence of the major auto shows, Nissan has decided to take advantage of recent racing events in Monaco to present for the first time in public the final production version of its electric SUV. It can be seen in video circulating on portions of the circuit, allowing the pilot to test the new e-4FORCE technology .
The e-4FORCE system , for “electric, 4-wheel drive and force”, is a new all-wheel drive and control system for the driving wheels that offers behavior worthy of many sports cars. The technology uses a dual electric motor, one motor at the front and one at the rear, as well as a torque distribution system to optimize the behavior of the vehicle at all times.
According to Nissan, not only will e-4FORCE technology improve the stability of vehicles on slippery roads, but it will also provide better handling and, most importantly, greater driving pleasure. The engineers also mention that the weight transfers under braking will be reduced as much as possible thanks to the use of a regenerative braking system for both the front engine and the rear engine, thus making urban driving more comfortable.
On the style side, the lines of the Nissan Ariya 2022 contrast sharply with those of the manufacturer’s current SUVs and show the brand’s new signature. Its lines are much more modern and rounded, while the interior is stripped of classic controls, most of the operations will be carried out from the touch screen.
Offered with a choice of two batteries, 65 and 90 kilowatt hours, the Nissan Ariya 2022 would offer an estimated range of between 321 and 482 kilometers. Pricing has not yet been released, the vehicle is expected to go on sale in the fall of 2021.
