After a first contact several weeks ago, we took the wheel of the electric Citroën ë-C4 to measure its real autonomy. In good electric condition, it does not set any benchmark in this area, but it is the most efficient of the PSA group.
Like many electric cars, the new Citroën ë-C4 passed through our Montlhéry base to undergo the traditional battery test. We were also careful to wait for temperatures to warm up because the frosts in February would have affected the French , the cold distorting the situation a little in the energy consumption of electric cars . As it stands, the electric C4 does not set any record in terms of autonomy. No wonder, since all other PSA models built on the same platform and equipped with the same battery / electric motor combinations are far from efficiency champions. We think in particular of the Peugeot e-208 and e-2008 or evenDS 3 Crossback E-Tense . However, on our various cycles, the C4 is the one that does the best of the lot . The differences with the other electrics are not huge and can probably be explained by a more favorable aerodynamics. Perhaps also due to its weight, since it is the highest and therefore promotes regenerative braking. But not the covers, since it is also the least efficient of the lot. Note that we have not measured the Opel Corsa-e which, by its similarity with the Peugeot e-208, offers the same autonomy as the French . Ditto for the new Mokka-e, technical twin of the e-2008. Make way for numbers.
