The buzz about news in 2019 Honda HR-V is right to exist. The SUV was launched in 2014 and factories tend to tinker with models around the third or fourth year of the market. That is, the changes in the compact are about to appear.
And the inspiration may come from China. There, Honda sells Vezel, a model similar to our HR-V. And it also markets the XR-V, the one with more sporty design.
It has front grille framed by parallel friezes, replicated inside the headlights (full-led, in the most expensive versions). The bumper, with lanterns and auxiliary headlights incorporated, is also unheard of.
These changes make the XR-V much like the new Fit and CR-V. The similarity to the average SUV is even greater in the rear, with leds of leds integrated with each other. The lid of the trunk is also different. Inside, all air vents are round.
The new HR-V is expected to arrive here in the second quarter of 2018, not coincidentally, the same date expected for the arrival of the Toyota C-HR (imported).
Before that, however, Honda will have another attraction to show. In February 2018, the new City arrives, also redesigned with the design proposed by the CR-V, just as it happened with Fit 2018, released in October.
It is curious to note that the CR-V itself, which reached the fifth generation this year, already exhibits a modified design. The new CR-V will come to Brazil imported, but still has no date to disembark here.
New compact may be on the way
The renewal strategy does not stop there. According to sources, Honda did not abandon the project, which we announced at the end of last year: the Japanese wants to enter the truck segment with Ridgeline.
In the second generation, this pickup competes with Toyota Hilux, Chevrolet S10 and Nissan Frontier. His debut here has no scheduled date, but the forecast is for the end of 2018.
The biggest new addition to the sequel would be a new compact model, equipped with turbocharged three-cylinder 1.0 engine with variable valve timing and direct fuel injection.
This 127 hp engine already exists. He teams Fit in other markets. But the possibility of its coming to Brazil is nebulous – although sources linked to the factory inform that this car would already be in Brazil. Time will tell.
