Dacia presented the new generation Duster at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Mioveni builder’s SUV now promises a revised design, a new interior with modern elements and familiar motoring.

“The new Duster is a full-blown SUV personality, approaching a completely new, robust exterior design. The new interior is remarkable for its comfort, perceived quality and ergonomics , “ said Francois Mariotte, Dacia’s commercial director.

The new generation Duster measures 4.3 meters in length, has a width of 1.8 meters and a ground clearance of 210 mm. The luggage compartment measures 445 liters in 4×2 and 376 liters respectively in the 4×4 version. The angle of attack reaches about 30 degrees, while the angle of clearance measures 33 degrees.

From an aesthetic point of view, Laurens van den Acker’s team, Renault’s chief designer, continued to promote the robust appearance of the Mioveni SUV. In the front of the new generation Dacia Duster we see new optical blocks, ribbed ribs and a satin chrome shield. According to Dacia officials, the new Duster windscreen is 100 millimeters ahead and is more inclined. Wheel passages are even more generous, and 17-inch wheels complement the look of the new generation Duster.

In the rear area, the Mioveni manufacturer’s SUV integrates new design stoplights whose light signature was taken from Sandero and Logan’s facelift. Also, the bodywork gets the new Atacama Orange hue.

“Reinventing an emblematic model such as Duster has been a real challenge for design teams but also a source of motivation. […] We have a completely new design, both outdoors and in. Due to the raised lines and wider aspect of the vehicle, the new Duster looks more impressive and its SUV character even more affirmed , “ said Laurens van den Acker, Renault’s design director.

On the inside, the new generation Duster promises a revised board, better materials and a slightly higher display. At the same time, the board is provided with five aerators, three of which are centrally located. At the center of the instrument panel a display is displayed, where the driver receives essential information about the car’s system. We must not forget the new four-wheel steering wheel that can be adjusted in height (40 mm) and in depth (50 mm).

Dacia says the new generation Duster offers more comfortable seats and easier to adjust. The length of the seat was increased by 20 mm and the adjustable head restraints are new. The driver’s seat has a lumbar adjustment and a mechanism for height adjustment (60 mm).

Internal storage space now reaches 28.6 liters, up 5.8 liters more than the old generation. The new storage spaces are located on the center console and in front of the front passenger. At the same time, Dacia says that the intensity of the noise felt inside has decreased.

“Inside, the new Duster has been completely redesigned, and it is now more comfortable and practical, offering more affordable commands, new equipment and more storage space.” The quality of materials and more precise finishes show that Dacia has moved to a new stage with the new Duster , “ said David Durand, Design Director Dacia.

In terms of equipment, the new Duster features an automatic climate control system, curtain airbags, automatic light activation,  starter and keyless access and a dead angle warning system. In addition, the new generation Duster is equipped with the system called the “multiview camera”. It integrates four video cameras (one front, one rear and two lateral), with which the driver can easily calculate off-road maneuvers and more. Mioveni builder officials say the new Duster will be available with Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist systems.

The new generation Dacia Duster can be ordered with two petrol units and two diesel engines. Petrol engine fans can opt for SCe 115 (4×2) or TCe 125 (4×2, 4×4). If you prefer a diesel engine, Dacia offers the 90 hp dCi in the 4×2 version or the dCi 110 hp version (4×2, 4×4). In the case of a Duster equipped with a 110 hp diesel engine in the 4×2 version, customers can also opt for the EDC double clutch box.
