After a long time, Tesla has finally unveiled the 2017 Tesla Model 3. It’s what we should were expecting (and seeking) – a less-expensive, versatile, attractive 5-seater with decent range and also a low price. 2017 Tesla Model 3 Price

As it sits, the “base” Model 3 will get at least 215 miles on a charge and hit 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. “We don’t make slow cars,” Musk quipped. Musk is fairly confident the Model 3 can be delivered by the end of next year at the $35,000 price point. You are probably aware that new Teslas don’t always arrive on schedule, so take the timing with a grain of salt.
As for range: Musk says the Model 3 will work “at least” 215 miles per charge, per EPA rating. “These are minimal numbers,” he explained. “We anticipate to exceed them.”
All Model 3s could have the full Autopilot hardware suite, every car, like the base models, should have Autopilot’s safety and crash mitigation features standard.
The mid-size sedan will fit five adults comfortably, Musk says. Adding towards the roomy feel might be a large rear window that wraps up and into the roof, similar to your Model X windshield. Of course, the Model 3’s huge sales targets require expanded production capability. Tesla’s current Fremont plant can perform cranking out approximately 500,000 cars 12 months, Musk says. Batteries are another matter: “We basically should absorb each of the lithium ion production from the world,” Musk says.
That’s the spot that the Gigafactory also comes in. “It should have the largest footprint of the building inside world,” Musk says, claiming guarana will produce more lithium ion batteries than all the factories within the world, combined. Musk claims the Gigafactory has already been operational today.
Deliveries with the Model 3 begin with the end of 2017. “I do feel fairly certain that it will be buy,” Musk said, a sidelong mention of the Tesla’s many delays in past product launches. The price? $35,000. “Even when you get no options, this is the best car you can purchase,” Musk said.
