After the news of the Classic range unveiled a few days ago, Triumph Speed Triple Unveils icon. Without waiting, the Roadster is offered in two trim levels, S and R.
Above all, for 2016 the Speed Triple is adorned with a new dress: fairing elements reworked, a back loop largely inspired by the supersport Daytona, rounder headlights; Triumph wishing to accentuate the aggressive and sporty roadster. The Speed Triple R is distinguished by a few buttons glossy red paint here and there and by carbon parts.
Although the displacement remains the same, or 1\’050cc, the three-cylinder fills background evolves to meet the stringent Euro4 emission standards, but especially to develop more torque and power. Not less than 104 points were reviewed: the combustion chamber, cylinder heads, redesigned elements such as pistons, crankshaft and body injection and exhaust butterflies (to meet the requirements of the Electronic Throttle Control). The clutch is now attended to slip (slipper). The flow rate of the exhaust gas is increased by 70% and water radiator is narrower (20mm). Triumph does not yet talk about figures as to the power and torque of three-cylinder, unfortunately; in all cases, can be expected at a power between 140 and 150cv.
The Speed Triple is now equipped with a new electronic control unit (ECU) working with the ride-by-wire, ABS and traction control. The five driving modes are: Road, Rain, Sport, Track and customizable fashion Rider. Naturally, ABS is disconnectable and configurable, as is traction control; the latter being in line with the driving mode.
Triumph always trust the Brembo monoblock calipers with manufacturers at the front and Öhlins (R model only) with an inverted fork and a rear element NIX30 TTX36 RSU. The standard S model already adopted a fully adjustable KYB suspension. In addition, the R model offers a special livery marked red (Crystal White, Matt Graphit) and carbon parts. The S model is currently available in two colors: Diablo Red, Phantom Black.
